cr0hn

If you got here looking for cr0hn, you are in the right place.

For more than twenty years I signed everything as cr0hn: talks at RootedCON and Navaja Negra, tools on GitHub, papers, the blog, the newsletter. That name is not going away. It is still my GitHub username and plenty of people will keep calling me that.

What I did was tidy up the identity, not change it. Everything now hangs off my name: Daniel Alfocea.

Why

Because the work changed. I used to build and break systems. Most of what I do now is help decide what to do with them: what to touch, what to leave alone, which risks are worth taking and which are not.

cr0hn was the right name for the first thing. For the second, my own name works better.

What stays the same

  • The GitHub account is still cr0hn. No repository moves.
  • The talks, projects and papers are all here, on the same paths.
  • The blog is still going, now at blog.danielalfocea.com.
  • The podcast is where it always was, now at podcast.danielalfocea.com.
  • The newsletter is still Vamos al lío.

What changes

Email. The new address is [email protected]. The old one will keep reaching me for a long while, but it is worth updating.

Not much else. Same work, tidier name.
