Aiotasks

Python 438 stars 2024

Aiotasks is a distributed task manager for Python Asyncio. Picture Celery, but for asynchronous code.

I love Asyncio, I think it’s one of the best things that happened to Python. But trying Celery with asynchronous code was hell, and that’s why I made Aiotasks.

Why Aiotasks

  • It’s built from scratch for Asyncio.
  • It’s simple: using it does not take a PhD in Python.
  • It scales horizontally without drama.
  • It’s light and doesn’t drag in the thousand dependencies Celery has.

Where I’ve used it

In production, to process millions of events in real time, build distributed data pipelines, send mass notifications and spread out scrapers.

It has over 400 stars and the Python community is picking it up little by little.

The audio on why AI turns dumb

I send one email a day. Everyone who signs up gets, right then, a ten minute audio on what almost nobody knows about ChatGPT and Claude.
